Zone
System

Campaign scope decides which associations are included first. The three-zone economic system then keeps included contributions fair when a campaign crosses multiple economic zones.

Why We Use Zones

Most solidarity obligations are expected to be intra-zonal. Zones exist so cross-zone or multi-zone campaigns can be weighted fairly across different economic realities. They do not decide whether an association is included; the approved campaign scope does.

Campaign Targets by Zone

Campaign target amounts vary by the beneficiary association’s zone to reflect regional economic conditions. Scope still decides which associations are asked to contribute.

Campaign TypeZone AZone BZone C
Death/Repatriation
Funeral expenses and body repatriation
€5,000.00€3,000.00€2,000.00
Education Scholarship
Educational advancement support
€2,500.00€1,500.00€1,000.00
Disaster Relief
Natural or man-made disaster support
€5,000.00€3,000.00€2,000.00
Medical Emergency
Urgent medical treatment
€5,000.00€3,000.00€2,000.00

Note: Contribution rates and target amounts are interim and may be adjusted according to network health. At launch, only death/repatriation campaigns are guaranteed to be approved. Medical, scholarship, and disaster campaigns will be activated as the network's health and membership grow.

How Contributions Work

Pro-Rata Calculation

When a campaign is approved, the target amount is divided among in-scope associations based on:

  • The campaign’s country reach and Cameroon-origin reach
  • The zone rate for each in-scope association (100%, 50%, or 25%)
  • The number of eligible active members in each in-scope association

Example: Country-Scoped Campaign

EUR 5,000 death campaign scoped to Germany only (same zone, no cross-zone weighting):

EUR 5,000 ÷ 400 members = EUR 12.50 per member

  • • Association Berlin (200 × EUR 12.50): EUR 2,500
  • • Association Munich (120 × EUR 12.50): EUR 1,500
  • • Association Hamburg (80 × EUR 12.50): EUR 1,000

*Only associations included by the campaign scope share the obligation.

Example: Cross-Zone Campaign

EUR 5,000 campaign whose approved scope includes 500 members across 3 zones:

Weighted total: (200×100%) + (150×50%) + (150×25%) = 312.5 → EUR 16 per weighted member

  • • Zone A (200 members × 100%): EUR 16/member → EUR 3,200
  • • Zone B (150 members × 50%): EUR 8/member → EUR 1,200
  • • Zone C (150 members × 25%): EUR 4/member → EUR 600

*Zone rates protect fairness only after the campaign scope includes associations from different economic zones.
